Hello. My name is Brian Harkin. I'm a photographer from the U.S. living in Mexico City. My current project is an essay of photography made while primarily engaged in an activity other than photography. From 2009 to 2018 I lived in New York City, where I was a regular contributor to The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Guardian Weekend Magazine. Lately, I write about art and culture. I reviewed the Mexico City issue of Aperture Magazine for The Metropole, profiled artists in Mexico for the online edition of Bomb Magazine, and reviewed (in brief) a movie for The Drift.
